Project Statement

During my travels, small moments of time and seemingly unimportant details created the strongest impressions on me. Constantly, I was struck by saturated hues and graphic patterns found in everyday scenes, such as a bakery’s tray of desserts, the blur of a passing train, and racks of colorful paper. The series Photographs of Seoul and Tokyo focused on these glimpses of culture in order to express the unique, visual experience of Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan.
